Our Product Manger/Drum Expert Michael Bedard, sat down with Greg Campbell (Schmooche) long time manager of legendary Hip Hop group The Pharcyde, and comedian Jeremy Scippio, to talk about careers in music, adapting and pivoting, Papusas and Mexican food, and life in general.
One of the most influential Hip Hop groups in history, and producers of hit songs Passing Me By, Runnin’ and Drop (featuring the Beastie Boys and was the first video ever shot completely in reverse), The Pharcyde created their own brand of off-the-wall, highly technical and skit driven albums. The first of which is celebrating it’s 30th anniversary, Bizarre Ride ll The Pharcyde. This freshman album brought out a new, humorous side of West Coast Hip Hop, in the same year and same city that brought NWA, as well as the LA riots happening that same year. The Pharcyde brought levity to a very heavy chapter in the US.
Greg hired Michael on as drummer during the Humboldt Beginnings album to tour shows around the US. This led to recording and collaborating on multiple projects together.
